Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 12, 2026
Parking SF is designed to work without an account. This policy explains what data the app and website may handle and what it does not collect.
What we collect
- Approximate or precise location only if you grant location permission on your device
- Recent searches and saved parking blocks stored locally on your device through iOS app storage
- Basic web and API request logs created by normal server operation for uptime, abuse control, and debugging
- Any information you choose to send in a support email
What we do not collect
- We do not require a personal account to use the core map
- We do not sell personal information
- We do not claim live vehicle tracking or collect parking sensor telemetry
On-device data
Favorites and recent searches are stored locally on your iPhone so the app can reopen useful places quickly. Parking SF is designed so the core map can work without a user account, and these local items are not used to build a personal profile.
Location permissions
If you allow location access, the app uses that permission to center the map, refresh nearby parking blocks, and support search and routing context. Parking SF requests location for in-app use and does not describe itself as a background location tracker.
How data is used
Location is used to center the map and find nearby blocks. Search history and favorites stay on-device unless you explicitly share a map state link. Backend logs are used to keep the service working and to diagnose failures. Support emails are used only to answer product, billing, privacy, or technical questions.
Third-party services
The app may use Apple Maps services for native search and map display. The backend may call public geocoding or local Valhalla services when those features are enabled.
Retention and control
You can clear recent searches inside the app, remove saved items from the Saved tab, revoke location permission in iOS settings, or delete the app to remove local app storage from your device. Support correspondence and operational logs may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to investigate issues, prevent abuse, and keep the service available.
Policy boundaries
Parking SF is a planning product built from public historical datasets. This privacy policy should be read together with the How It Works page, which explains the product's data sources and limits, and the Terms of Use, which explains the service boundaries.
